Downtown Outreach

Operating out of St. Mary's, Downtown Outreach is a 501(c)(3) organization committed to hunger relief in Metro Kansas City. The program relies entirely on volunteers for day-to-day operations. Downtown Outreach provides the area's only hot meal on Saturdays, as well as free grocery pick-up. Anyone is welcome to receive food; no income test or proof of ID is required. Nursery Care

Nursery care for children is available every Sunday at our 10 am service. Our nursery is comfortably located in the parish hall with easy access for parents. A Diocesan trained and certified child-care worker and parent volunteer staff the nursery.

Sunday Receptions
Each week after the 10 am service, we gather in our parish hall for St. Mary’s “Immaculate Reception.” program relies entirely on volunteers for Members of our reception committee serve up delectable dishes and plenty of coffee while members of our community meet and greet each other and our many visitors. Receptions are also held after special services such as Evensong and at other times.

Special Events

Throughout the year our parish holds special events in order to celebrate with each other. Among these events are our Parish Picnic held on our parish feast day in August and our Mardi Gras party held on Fat Tuesday. We also come together for movie nights during the summer and concerts and other cultural events throughout the year.
