The Third Century Capital Campaign

St. Mary’s is actively engaged in a capital campaign to raise funds for restoration and renovation of the church building and its systems. The campaign has raised approximately $700,000 to date. Donors include St. Mary’s parishioners, the William T. Kemper Foundation, J.E. Dunn Construction and various individual donors in the community. The campaign goal is $1.7 million dollars.

The three major areas of focus and component projects are:

Historic Preservation and Beautification
o   Replacement of exterior doors – Completed 2009
o   Restoration of masonry – Partially completed 2009
  o   Improvement of exterior signage
  o   Landscaping – In progress
o   Wood refinishing in the nave and chapel
  o   Exterior lighting

Safety and Functionality
  o   Electrical and lighting improvements
o   New chairs in the nave

Revenue Generating and Capacity Building
o   Renovation of parish hall and south basement
  o   Parking lot expansion

The renovation project will prepare St. Mary’s to continue its ministry in the 21st century – the third century in which our parish has provided spiritual care and charitable outreach in downtown Kansas City.
