St. Mary’s Episcopal Church offers a beautiful and inspiring setting for your wedding. Our nave (sanctuary) accommodates a maximum of 300 guests, but can also be configured to seat smaller groups without an appearance of sparseness. For very intimate weddings, St. George’s chapel offers seating for approximately 25 guests.

Although some aspects of the marriage service, including the vow, cannot be changed, a variety of marriage liturgies approved for use by the Episcopal Church is available. They range from the traditional service with contemporary language in the Book of Common Prayer, 1979, to the traditional language services of earlier editions of the Book of Common Prayer, to an order of service that allows the couple to be creative in selecting the elements of the marriage liturgy.

St. Mary’s requires the use of a marriage liturgy approved by the Episcopal Church. At least one member of the couple to be married must be a baptized person. Remarriage of divorced persons is permitted under some circumstances.

Our wedding arrangements include the services of our priest for planning the marriage service, premarital counseling and officiating at the marriage and the services of our staff organist.

Located in downtown Kansas City, St. Mary’s is easily accessible from all directions by freeway and surface streets and offers ample free parking. Numerous reception facilities and hotel accommodations for guests are available nearby
