Parishioner Gifts to Capital Campaign Total Nearly $140,000
St. Mary's parishioners were offered the opportunity to invest in the future during the Third Century Capital Campaign, October 4 through November 1. The capital campaign was a part of this year's annual stewardship campaign.
Gifts from parishioners are eligible for matching funds from a grant from the William T. Kemper Foundation. The first disbursement of that grant was received in December 2008 and was used to replace the exterior doors of the church building, improve landscaping on the church grounds and to create a four-color tour guidebook of the art and furnishings in the nave of the church.
The next phase of work on the building will be renovation of the parish hall and lower level. A start date for that work has not yet been set, but it is hoped that construction can begin in early 2010.
