| Downtown OutreachLunch served Saturdays 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. G  Downtown Outreach is St. Mary's ministry to the poor of downtown Kansas City. We provide a hot lunch and distribute groceries every Saturday at St. Mary's Church, 1307 Holmes, Kansas City. The program serves an average of 600 meals every month and distributes a weekly bag of groceries to 50+ households in the Kansas City metro area. Proof of income is not required to eat lunch or receive groceries. Persons wishing to receive groceries who have a residential address should bring documentation of that address. Volunteers arrive between 9:00 and 9:30 a.m. to set up tables and cook. We serve lunch and clean up afterward. Another group prepares grocery bags starting and 10:00 am and and distributes them between noon and 1:00 pm New volunteers are always welcome. You can work one Saturday, or sign up for a regular schedule. Volunteer on your own, or bring a group from your business or other organization. Delivery or pick-up of food donations may be arranged by calling the same number. Downtown Outreach is a 501(c)(3) organization. Your gift is 100% tax deductible. The value of in-kind gifts must be established by a cash receipt.  |
